Since 1971, we have been crafting every single frame entirely in-house, in Italy. From a pure titanium sheet to the finished product, every step takes shape within our own factory in the heart of the Dolomites: The Black Shelter Sustainable Factory.
Here, honesty turns into responsibility, and responsibility into objects built to last.
It’s a radical choice that makes us independent and authentic-masters of our know-how, our time, and the quality we stand for. Being 100% in-house means having complete control over every stage of production,an average of 109 steps, many performed by hand, and the ability to follow each detail with the precision that only craftsmanship can ensure. It also means reacting swiftly to market needs, with production times up to 70% shorter than the industry average, and offering our partners measurable excellence, transparency, and trust.
But doing everything in-house is not only a manufacturing decision. It allows us to constantly innovate, renewing about 30% of our collections every year, and to keep creativity alive through the close connection between design, development, and production. It’s a model that merges freedom and responsibility, industrial precision and artisanal sensitivity.
At the same time, it’s a conscious act of sustainability. Within our single production site, everything happens under one roof - no semi-finished parts are shipped elsewhere - drastically reducing transport-related emissions. We work strictly on demand, producing only what is needed, avoiding excess and waste. Every process is optimized to minimize environmental impact and to make the most of every human and material resource.
At Blackfin, independence is a vision that generates tangible value. It makes us faster, sharper, and more authentic- turning titanium into emotion, technology into beauty, and every frame into a declaration of identity designed to stand the test of time.
